ASHA Convention programme held in Dima Hasao: CEM inaugurated 10 bedded Deluxe Paying Cabin at Haflong Civil Hospital

 

Haflong 09th Feb, 2026: Marking a significant leap in healthcare and urban infrastructure, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC)Debolal Gorlosa, spearheaded two major development projects during the ASHA Convention held at Haflong today.

The CEM officially inaugurated a newly constructed 10-bedded Deluxe Paying Cabin at Haflong Civil Hospital, aimed at providing enhanced medical facilities and comfort to patients in the region. Simultaneously, the foundation stone was laid for the highly anticipated Haflong Town Water Supply Project under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. This project is set to address long-standing water security needs for the Haflong town.

During the programme in his speech, CEM Debolal Gorlosa has consistently called for collective action to maintain cleanliness at Haflong Civil Hospital, often setting the ambitious goal of making it the best in the state. CEM has also emphasized that keeping the hospital "neat and clean" is not just the job of staff but requires the active participation of patients and visitors as well. Gorlosa has frequently expressed his vision for the district to become a top performer in state for medical services.

The convention programme served as a platform to recognize the tireless efforts of ASHA and AAM workers. Based on the Council’s “A Visit” assessment, the district's top three performers from Songpijang AAM, Hangrum AAM, and Raotilla AAM were formally honoured. Further, to empower grassroots health workers top four outstanding ASHA workers were awarded with scooties for their exemplary field service. In a gesture of gratitude, four retired ASHA workers received a one-time honorarium of ₹2 lakh each and 18 ASHA workers were granted enhanced incentives for a six-month period.

The event was graced by Chairman NCHAC Mohet Hojai, and Executive Members (EMs) Samuel ChangsanDonpainon Thaosen and Probita Johori, MACs Dhriti Thaosen, Monjoy LangthasaShri Ratan Jarambusa Ramgalungbe Jeme, and  John Photong, alongside NCHAC Principal Secretary Partha Jahari, ACS, NCHAC Joint Secretary Rebecca Changsan, ACS, and the Joint Director of Health Services, Dima Hasao.
