The programme began in the morning with colourful procession starting from council premises then towards Haflong lake and returned to council. The special highlight during the rally was the pipe band by Assam Police Battalion. On the momentous occasion of Dima Hasao, District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS spoke in details about the formation of the districts in this part of India and how in the initial days the administrative works were handled. He also briefed how the district was formed.
NCHAC CEM, DebolalGorlosasaid that the district exemplifies balanced growth and the focus of the council remains sustainable development while honouring the roots of the district. He said that he and his govt.is on the continuous effort to create more opportunities for the youth development by offering them more scopes of job avenues, education and others.
Conveying his
wishes on the occasion, NCHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai also spoke in brief about
the district formation and the development works thereafter.
The celebration beautifully showcased
the rich cultural heritage of our land through a display of traditional dress.Students
from various educational institutions, alongside traditional performers
representing different communities, added fervour to the event. A beautiful Dimasa
dance performance was also presented during the occasion by the local artists.
