Dima Hasao celebrates 77th Republic Day of India

Nation was held centrally at N.L. Daulagupu sports complex, Haflong in Dima Hasao with Chief Executive Member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa as the chief guest.

          CEM Debolal Gorlosa unfurled the tricolour with District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS and Sr. Superintendent of Police Ripunjoy Kakoti, APS accompanying him. The programme began with swahid tarpan by paying floral tribute to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi followed by inspection of the march-past contingents.

          Wishing the audience present at the field for the 77th Republic Day, CEM Gorlosa spoke about the aspirations and achievements of their government. He stressed on how quality education and quality health institutions are important for the upliftment of the district.

          CEM Gorlosa also spoke at length about the achievements of his government not just in terms of constructions of roads and building but also about gaining trusts and blessings of the people of Dima Hasao. Under him, the young job aspirants have been able to achieve more number of jobs through various competitive examinations including UPSC and APSC. The council is trying all means in-order to keep the rich traditions and culture of all tribes of Dima Hasao.

          A special item was presented commemoration the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram. Colourful traditional cultural items were presented by all the indigenous tribes and non tribes of Dima Hasao.

          The programme was attended by the NCHAC Executive Members, MACs, Principal Secretary of NCHAC Partha Sarathi Jahari , officers from both council and district administration and largely the public.
