77th Republic Day Celebrated at Maibang

 

Maibang, January 26, 2026: The 77th Republic Day was observed with solemnity and patriotic spirit at Dishru Field, Maibang. Shri Shyamanta Rabi Bara, ACS, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Maibang, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Shri Vaibhav Rawat, IPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Maibang.

The programme featured cultural dances, traditional performances, patriotic plays, and parade drills, reflecting the rich heritage and unity of the community. On the occasion, a Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Mrs. Phali Bodo, an eminent educationist and social activist, in recognition of her contributions to society.

The NCC Girls Unit of Maibang Degree College secured the first prize in the Republic Day parade competition.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Bara highlighted the historical significance of Maibang, recalling the legacy of the Dimasa Kingdom and its role in enriching Dima Hasao. He emphasized the importance of preserving brotherhood and unity, noting that collective harmony would enable the district to prosper and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
