District level Science exhibition in Dima Hasao

Haflong, 10^th April 2012: A two days District level Science Exhibition “Bigyan Jeuti” has been organized for the 10^th and 11^th April,2012, under the aegis of Rastriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan, Dima Hasao, Assam at Government Girl’s Higher Secondary School, Haflong from today, reports the District Information and Public Relation Officer L.Joute today in a press release.

The report stated that Shri. Kalijoy Sengyung, EM i/c Education, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council officially inaugurated the programme this morning.Addressing the gathering, he calls upon the teachers to encourage their students to take full advantage of this science exhibition to showcase their talents.

The report further added that the Inspector of Schools, Shri. R.Rongpi, who also holds the District Programme Co-Ordinator, RMSA and the Convener of  the District level Science exhibition Committee also talks about the main objectives of the exhibition. The exhibition has been organized to stimulate and inculcate interest in science and technology among the students which will also helped them to explore and encourage scientific and technological talents among children. The event is expected to instill a sense of pride to the students in their talents and encourage a problem solving approach by developing the appropriate technologies, especially for rural areas. The subject matter of the science exhibition is science, society and environment, Food and security, energy and resource, conservation, etc. Along with the exhibition, different programmes including Quiz Competition, Essay writing and debate will also be organized during the two day programme. The opening ceremony was also attended by EM,DHAC Smt. Ranu Langthasa, and other officials and by many school fraternities.
