Living up with the tradition of being called Friends of The Hill People, the Haflong based Assam Rifles Battalion organized a Free Medical Camp at village New Sangbar under aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles on 15 Jan 2014. These efforts bring out the humane face of security forces and act as a confidence building measure.
The camp was conducted by the doctor and nursing assistant from the Assam Rifles Battalion in conjunction with medical staff of Holy Spirit Hospital, Haflong
Men, women and children were checked and their ailments were addressed by the medical team. Besides providing free medicines for various ailments, the patients with dubious symptoms were referred to civil Hospital, Haflong for further treatment. Around
93 villagers benefitted from the medical camp.
