Biate Tribes one of the ancient tribal community alike other tribal community in Dima Hasao, during Nulding Kut man, woman were seen dressed in their customary outfit to mark the significant and imperative day at Fiangpui Village PLay Ground, Haflong. The community celebrate the festivals as renewal of life and to symbolize the beginning of new year for new activities of life including cultivation and livelihood. The villagers come together to renew their future prospect on the other hand people forgive and forget their short coming sorrows and anger arising out of their past deed considering as a day of forgiveness.
This year the main attraction was colourful cultural dances and folk songs and exhibition of traditional cloths and handicrafts. It is also customary for elderly people of the villaga to visit the house of the village chief to talk about their activities and taking feast together in utensils traditionally made. The festival was also being observed in Thingdol village where Laljoshua Biate, EM for Town & Country Planning and Tourism as Chief guest and Flaming Rupsi Shylla, EM for Forest and Transport as Guest of Honour. The festival also been observed in all Biate Tribal community dominated areas of the Dima Hasao district.
