Haflong, October 16: The Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner Juri Phukan convened meeting with the departmental heads, market association, local NGOs, officials of the Haflong Town Committee to discuss strategy regarding cleaning of Haflong town market area today.
Concerned about the sanitation and hygiene in the market area in course of indefinite strike called by the sweeping staffs of the Haflong Town Committee, DC Phukan instructed everyone to take ownership of their own surroundings and maintain cleanliness.
She further discussed to focus on providing cleanliness particularly during the ensuing festive season in the market area. Keeping this in view a cleanliness drive has been planned at Haflong market on October 18, next that is on Sunday at 9:00 a.m . onwards.
