Haflong,October’15: The N C Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) demand immediate payment to families whose land and dwelling places have beed damaged by the construction of Broad-gauge conversion and National Highway.
In this connection, dharna was staged in front of the gathered in a two hour sit in protest ( Dharan ) in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioners Office,Haflong,which was attended by large number of its members and other general public.
The NCHISF also demand that immediate termination of contracts works allotted to Simplex –SOM Datt Builders(JV) engaged in the construction of two lane road between Jatinga and Haflong.
In support of their demand, the Forum submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao ,Haflong. The NCHISF also said that if their demand are not fulfilled they will call for indefinite blocked to all the ongoing construction work in N C Hills District till their demands are fulfilled
