Haflong, December 11,2020 : Media sensitization program on Tetanus Plus campaign was held on cember 11, in the office chamber of the Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer(FW), Dima Hasao,Haflong.
Briefing the media person present in the program Dr. Maria L .Changsan i/c Addl.Chief Medical and Health Officer (FW), Dima Hasao stated that from 14 December 2020 Tetanus Plus campaign will be held all over India and also in Dima Hasao district.
A 3(three) week long campaign will be held in every villages of the district where Health Worker will visit an immunized the adolescence age group 10 years and 16 years.
She also informed that immunity to diphtheria subsides following the primary series of DPT infant immunization and that booster doses of diphtheria toxoid containing vaccines are needed for continuous protection. Hence additional periodic boosters of Diphtheria and Pertusis containing vaccine are recommended.
She requested media person to sensitize Tetanus Plus campaign so that all the citizen/ parents of Dima Hasao extend their cooperation and immunized their children to make a healthy nation and Tetanus and diphtheria free from the Dima Hasao district.
The program was also attended by Dr. L.Vaipei, District Surveillance Officer, Integrated Disease Surveillance Program(IDSP) Dima Hasao among others.
