District Megistrate imposes restriction of the picnic parties in Dima Hasao district

 Haflong, 10^th Jan, 2024:  Considering the large movement of the picnic parties in the district, Simanta Das, District Magistrate of Dima Hasao has issued prohibitory order Under Section 144 of Cr.P.C inorder to ensure road safety, rash driving under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicating substances.

 As per the order consumption of alcohol or any other intoxicant substances by the driver of the vehicle is prohibited. High volume loud speakers, DJing, mikes and PA systems, driving above permissible speed limit have been restricted seen in the order. Selling, buying or consumption of alcohol in and around the picnic spots or river ghats, sale of liquor without valid license, littering, open defecation in and around the picnic spots, river and ghat are prohibited as per the order. No overcrowding in picnic vehicles, loud music in picnic vehicles while driving will be allowed. A movement of picnic parties before sunrise, after sunset and also during foggy weather is prohibited as per the order.

The order comes into effect immediately and addresses that any person aggrieved by this order may file objection for exemption or else event of any violation will invite prosecution under section 188 of IPC against violators.
