Haflong 13th Jan, 2026: The Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) Dima Hasao organized a three-day Asomi Bohagi Mela, 2026 at Lal Field, Haflong, stating from today and will continue until January 15th, 2026.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Donpainon Thaosen,
EM NCHAC in presence of District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngahtey, ACS; NCHAC
Joint Secretary Rebecca Changsan, ACS, NCHAC Deputy Secretary Laisringdi
Naiding ACS, NCHAC Deputy Secretary Sukanya Nunisa ACS, Project Director, BPMs,
BCs and other dignitaries.
During the "Bohagi Mela," Chief Guests Donpainon
Thaosen encouraged Self-Help Group (SHG) members to increase their income by
expanding product ranges and leveraging government support for marketing. Key
advice focuses on product diversification, utilizing government
schemes for financial aid, and adopting modern marketing systems. The
chief guests highlighted the importance of developing business and financial
management skills to manage their ventures effectively. SHGs were
encouraged to use modern communication tools, e-commerce platforms and the
Government e-Marketplace (GeM)
portal to expand their customer base and receive orders from a wider audience.
The aim of the event is to promote the products of SHGs and
provide a platform for marketing and sales and to encouraging the efforts of
the SHG members. The Mela showcases a variety of local products, traditional
products, handicrafts, organic spices, dresses of different tribes together and
other decor items made by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at 28 stalls set up.
