Haflong, April 10, 2026:In a remarkable academic achievement, Dima Hasao district has secured the top position in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026 results in Assam, recording an impressive pass percentage of 88.23%.
The results, declared by
the Assam State School Education Board on Friday, highlight consistent academic
excellence of Dima Hasao district. The district has maintained a position among
the top three performers in the state for the past four consecutive years —
ranking third in 2023 and 2024, improving to second position in 2025, and now
achieving the top rank in 2026.
Sivasagar district secured
the second position, followed by Dibrugarh in third place, reflecting strong
overall performance across the state.
A total of 3,356
candidates from Dima Hasao appeared in the HSLC Examination 2026, out of which
2,961 students successfully passed, while 395 students did not clear the
examination. Among the successful candidates, 1,553 students secured First
Division, 1,288 students achieved Second Division, and 120 students were placed
in Third Division.
Statewide, the HSLC
Examination 2026 recorded an overall pass percentage of 65.62%, marking an
improvement of approximately 2.5% compared to the previous year, indicating
steady progress in educational outcomes across Assam.
The outstanding
performance of Dima Hasao district stands as a testament to the dedication of
students, teachers, and the education department in Dima Hasao, setting a
benchmark for academic excellence in the state.
