As part of the Government of India, Ministry of Health drive to make the country Polio free, a Pulse Polio Immunization programme was conducted by 25 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles at Haflong on 19 Jan 2014.
The Immunization Programme commenced at 0830 hrs and lasted till 1500 hrs. A total of 292 children were given polio drops. The parents were also advised to give the next scheduled dose of Immunization in the month of Feb 2014.
25 Assam Rifles successfully conducted the Pulse Polio Immunization programme and achieved the expected target. The programme proved to be highly beneficial to the people of Dima Hasao to include Gunjung, Thaijuwari, Umrangso, Jatinga and Harangajao who could get their children vaccinated at their doorsteps.
